EVENT DETAILS

So, this is my first attempt at coordinating a hike at Tommy Thompson Park.
So, if it doesn't go well, I will learn from it and improve it for another year.

Here's my general plan

  • Leave from the N.W. corner Lakeshore & Leslie at 10 AM
  • Hike for about 1.5 to 2 hours out to the lighthouse at the tip of Tommy Thompson Park.
  • We'll stop for a snack break with an opportunity 'to take in the view.'
I prefer to not stop for a long lunch break as this area is very exposed to the the weather, should it be super sunny, rainy or windy.
  • Hike back for another 1.5 to 2 hours to get back to the start.

This hike will primarily either be on paved park paths or gravel trails.

In terms of hills, this hike is super duper flat.

    We'll aim for a pace of 4-5 km/h.

There's are a few outhouses along the trail and hopefully they're open.
There is also a Tim Hortons right beside the start point to use before or after the hike.

Sorry dog lovers, dogs are no longer permitted in Tommy Thompson Park, so will not be allowed on the hike.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A SUBWAY CLOSURE ON LINE 2 BETWEEN OSSINGTON & JANE STATION THIS WEEKEND
