Interim COVID- 19 Rules for the Toronto Outdoor Club

  • You must meet the following four conditions to participate in any TOC events.
    Within the 14 days preceding the event:
    1. You have not travelled outside of Canada;
    2. You don’t have any COVID-19, cold, or flu symptoms;
    3. You have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case;
    4. You have taken and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self- assessment on- line questionnaire.
  • You will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet- up, plus any time during the event when the 2m social distancing is not possible.
  • You will comply with any other rules as detailed on the TOC Rules Amendments
  • You will comply with any additional rules set by the organizer of the event for which you have registered, which could be more strict than the ones detailed above.

NOTES

  • These rules are in effect immediately and until further notice.
  • YOU MUST CONFIRM IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP THAT YOU MEET ALL THE CONDITIONS LISTED IN THIS DIRECTIVE AND YOU WILL COMPLY WITH ALL THE INTERIM RULES.
    Your event coordinator has been instructed to remove your event registration without further notice if you do not take this step during your registration.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and report you back to the TOC Executive.
  • If you cannot or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, please wait to sign up for any TOC events until the interim rules are lifted.

EVENT DETAILS

So, I've randomly selected this hike out of my personal hiking database for today.

This 9 KM hike will traverse between St. Clair West Station & St Clair Station.
Some interesting spots include

  • 'Cedarvale Park'.
  • 'The Belt Line'.
  • 'Captain Fluke'.
  • 'The neighbourhood of Deer Park'.

    • This hike will be on a combination gravel paths, neighbourhood sidewalks and cemetery roads.

    There's one slight hill on the hike. However, there's one large stair climb to make you miserable, right at the end of the hike.

    We'll do a washroom stop in Oriole Park, a little under 1.5 hours into the hike.
    There is also a washroom available in the Loblaws beside St. Clair West Station.

    We'll aim for a pace of 4-5 km/h.

    Post hike, if anyone is interested I'm going to head over to Shenanigans pub for a pint / lunch if you'd like to join.

    PLEASE NOTE THAT LINE 2 IS CLOSED BETWEEN WOODBINE & BROADVIEW STATION THIS WEEKEND

    • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:

    St Clair West Station is located on line 1 Yonge/Spadina. We'll meet outside the entrance on the north side of St. Clair avenue, which is on the side with the Loblaws.
    If its cold or wet, then I'll just be in the station doors.

    For those of you driving, the subway entrance is located on St. Clair, just east of Bathurst on the north side. In terms of parking, the Loblaws beside the station has free parking.
