EVENT DETAILS
So, I sprained my left ankle .... again. Its beginning to feel better, but its not 100%, so today I'm going to do a slow easy hike to 1. Build my ankle strength up again and 2. Ensure my belly doesn't gain too much drag from all this laying around and "healing"
So, today's 4.5 KM hike will travel between Finch West & York University Station.
The hike itself will traverse along the Finch Hydro Corridor and up the Black Creek and finish by passing through the York University Campus.
This hike will be on a combination of wide paved park paths and sidewalks.
In terms of hills, there is one 40 meter climb and one staircase.
There is no washroom on the hike, however there are several located in the mall across the street from the York University subway entrance, where this hike will end.
We'll aim for a pace of 3.5 to 4 KM/h
I usually carry a pair of icers with me from
the first snowfall of the year until the end of
April, so I recommend having a pair in your pack
to deal with any potential ice. You can find
the pair I use, 'here from Amazon'. |

How to Get There: |
Event Directions: | | We'll meet at the Finch West
Subway Station,
which is located on line 1, two
stops north of
Sheppard West and & 4 stations
south of Vaughan
Metropolitan Centre at the Keele
Street EAST
EXIT.
This station is a bit difficult to navigate. If you exit the subway platform using the north stairs/escalator, you'll find the correct KEELE EAST EXIT. If you don't know where the north stars/escalator are, just follow the direction of the northbound train. If you come out of the subway and see a building across the street which looks like a barcode, then you are on the wrong side.
Look for
me in the BLUE
Toronto Outdoor Club shirt,
For those of you driving, the
entrance is
located on the east side of Keele
Street, one
traffic light north of Finch. In
terms of
parking, there is a TTC lot
located just north
of the station, which is free on the weekend.
