Interim COVID-19 Rules for the Toronto Outdoor Club

  • You must meet the following four conditions to participate in any TOC events.
    Within the 14 days preceding the event:
    1. You have not travelled outside of Ontario;
    2. You don’t have any COVID-19, cold, or flu symptoms;
    3. You have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case;
    4. You have taken and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment on- line questionnaire.
  • You will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet-up, plus any time during the event when the 2m social distancing is not possible.
  • You will comply with any other rules as detailed on the TOC Rules Amendments
  • You will comply with any additional rules set by the organizer of the event for which you have registered, which could be more strict than the ones detailed above.

NOTES

  • These rules are in effect immediately and until further notice.
  • YOU MUST CONFIRM IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP THAT YOU MEET ALL THE CONDITIONS LISTED IN THIS DIRECTIVE AND YOU WILL COMPLY WITH ALL THE INTERIM RULES.
    Your event coordinator has been instructed to remove your event registration without further notice if you do not take this step during your registration.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and report you back to the TOC Executive.
  • If you cannot or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, please wait to sign up for any TOC events until the interim rules are lifted.

EVENT DETAILS

So, once a month I get a massage and I'm always tired for about 24 hours after. However, I still like to get some fresh air and exercise, so this will be just be a short slower urban hike.

Today's hike 6 KM hike will go from Chester to Broadview Subway Station.

The majority of this hike is either on paved park paths or through neighborhoods. There's a small section through a field which might be a tad muddy.

There's a flight of stairs as well as a short switch back to get out of the valley, but its not a crazy climb.

We'll do a washroom break about 1.5 hours into the hike when passing through Riverdale Park.

PLEASE NOTE THAT LINE 1 IS CLOSED BETWEEN OSGOODE AND KING UNTIL NOON THIS MORNING

    Event Directions:

    Chester Subway Station is located on the Bloor/Danforth subway line. The Station is located 4 stops east of the Yonge line. We'll meet outside the west station entrance. The one with the collectors booth. If its wet or cold, I'll just be within the subway entrance.

    For those of you driving, Chester station is located just north of Broadview on Chester Avenue.
    In terms of parking, there's a Green P lot located just across the street from the station entrance.
