E is for … Eglinton to Edwards Gardens Let’s get on with the alphabet hikes! Fall is an especially great time to stroll around Edwards Gardens. The Gardens are within one of Toronto’s ravines, and one of the Don River tributaries (Wilket Creek) runs through it. There is a network of paths that wind their way back and forth via bridges over the creek and back. Since this is the “E” hike, we’ll meet at Eglinton Station and walk a while along Eglinton until taking a side street to enter the trails at Sunnybrook Park, pass near the stables, and continue up to Edwards Gardens. Bring a camera if you have one! After a nice tour of the Gardens, the hike will officially end. We’ll be at the intersection of Lawrence and Leslie, and any bus heading south will bring you back to Eglinton Subway Station. If it’s a nice day, I might hike an extra km to the Shops of Don Mills and get a gelato. From there you can catch the 54 that also takes you back to Eglinton Station.
