Itinerary:
Seems like we haven't had many canoe trips through the club this year so here is a last minute offering. This would be o the Frost section of the Haliburton Highlands WaterWay. If enough people with canoes sign up, we can choose a lake that is closer to the north end of the park and hence less driving. Otherwise, we will to to site 10 near the Frost Centre and do our paddling in the morning, spending Friday night at the put in. During the day we can do a circuit of some of the lakes. If we have the cars to haul canoes, we can discuss picking some up here in the city.

I doubt that 10 people will sign up but if we end up with that many and the 10 person sites are gone, I may have to take just the first people that sign up. We will have a conference call on Thursday evening to work out details of food, rides, tents, though I'll suggest we might want to do our own food depending upon restrictions.

If you have not paddled with me in the past, please provide the name of a TOC trip leader that you have canoed with in the past. When you sign up, tell me if you can stern.

note: PLEASE DON'T SIGN UP IF YOU CAN'T REALLY COME. There are no 3 person canoe rentals at the park, so we would need to have even numbers of people or rent elsewhere. I am adamant about not damaging the natural environment and we will observe all park rules.

Overnight camping gear: tent, sleeping bag, mattress. Details to follow, especially as regards tent and canoe-sharing.

Cost Includes:You are responsible for renting your own canoe, paddles and life jackets (Count on spending between $50 to $80 each for the weekend on this. Food will cost another $15 or $20 or if you binge like me $50. Add the carpool on to that and you're looking at about $150 for the trip.
