The fine print

  • Have you wanted to come out on a FAST hike but weren't sure if you could keep up?
  • Well, this "ALMOST FAST" hike might be for you.
  • I will set the pace at about 6.0 km/h
  • .
  • (FYI - a FAST HIKE would be 6.5 - 7 km/h)
  • Please, if you sign up for this hike, ensure that you can walk about 6.0 km/h for 16 km.
  • This is an ALMOST FAST HIKE for strong hikers, IT IS NOT A CASUAL STROLL.

A few of the km will be on mountain bike trails with some steep ups and downs!!
as well as some on pavement and gravel paths.
There will be 1 big hill and a bunch of not quite big hills. There may be a few muddy sections.

This is the route we will take.

  • Start at Lawrence subway station, (S.E. corner of Yonge St & Lawrence Ave)
  • east through various parks to Sunnybrook Park
  • north through Glendon Campus
  • Ascend Lawrence Ave hill for .75 km
  • east to Wilket Creek Park
  • hike trails in Sunnybrook Park
  • hike trails in Serena Gundy Park
  • west through various parks
  • End at Lawrence subway station

    We'll meet on the South-East corner of Yonge St and Lawrence Ave, near the 'Locke' branch of the Toronto Public Library across the street from the Lawrence Subway Station Entrance.

    Lawrence Subway Station is located on the Yonge Subway Line, two stops south of Sheppard and 6 Stations north of Bloor.

    Look for me with a whistle on my backpack.
