We will backpack a section of the beautiful, rugged Ganaraska Trail .The plan is to leave on Saturday morning, drive up to Devils Lake access point and backpack around 10 km in. On Sunday, we will hike back to our cars and head back to Toronto. The total hiking distance will depend on the weather conditions. Expect up to 6 hours of walking each day, depending on conditions.
This trip is a good introductory trip for those who would like to experience cold weather backcountry camping. Some backpacking/camping experience is recommended and you must be able to hike the 10K distance on rugged terrain with a heavy backpack with snowshoes.Experienced backpackers are also very welcome ! If you have not been on a backpacking trip with the TOC,please mention your experience on the Notes section while signing up. For this trip, carpool arrangements and shared gear will be coordinated by e-mail or phone. | |||||||
