Itinerary:

(For those of you who have been on my previous 4 fast hikes,
the first 1/2 of this route will be different. I don't want you getting bored.
Today's big hill will be Old Yonge St, not Lawrence)

The fine print

  • This D4 hike will be 16 km. We will maintain a fast pace of about 6.5+ km/h.
  • Please, if you sign up for this hike, ensure that you can walk at least 6.5 km/h for 16 km.
  • THIS IS A FAST HIKE FOR STRONG HIKERS. IT IS NOT A CASUAL STROLL.
  • WE WILL BE WALKING VERY QUICKLY, AND WON'T BE WAITING FOR STRAGGLERS.

OK, now that you`ve read all the warnings, come out for a great workout!

This hike will be along a mix of pavement, gravel and dirt paths, with 1 big hill and a bunch of lesser hills. There may be a few muddy sections.

We'll start and end at Lawrence Subway Station.

Please arrive on time, we will start promptly, and I will turn off my cell once we begin hiking.

This is the route we will take.

  • Start at Lawrence subway station, (S.E. corner of Yonge St & Lawrence Ave)
  • north along Mt. Pleasant and Yonge
  • east thru Hoggs Hollow to Bayview
  • south thru Windfields Park
  • south thru Edwards Gardens
  • south thru Wilket Creek Park
  • south along trails in Sunnybrook Park
  • west through various parks
  • End at Lawrence subway station

Required Items to Bring:
  • Good footwear
  • Weather appropriate clothing

    Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
  • Water
  • Flashlight or headlight (the last 1/2 hour will be in the trees and quite dark)

    We'll meet on the South-East corner of Yonge St and Lawrence Ave, near the 'Locke' branch of the Toronto Public Library across the street from the Lawrence Subway Station Entrance.

    Lawrence Subway Station is located on the Yonge Subway Line, two stops south of Sheppard and 6 Stations north of Bloor.

    Look for me with an ORANGE whistle on my backpack.
