Itinerary:
In celebration of "Freedom to Read Week 2007" and "Keep Toronto Reading," PEN Canada, in association with the Toronto Public Library, presents Inventory: Writers Tracking War and Conflict.

Hosted by CBC-1's Carol Off, the evening will feature an incredible line-up of speakers, including such Canadian literary luminaries as David Bezmozgis, Dionne Brand, Bernice Eisenstein, Camilla Gibb, Rawi Hage, Ann-Marie MacDonald, and Senthil Ratnasabapathy, as well as musical performance by Bruce Cockburn and Shad. All proceeds go to PEN Canada.

Tickets are $20, but can be purchased on a sliding scale starting at $10 depending on your ability to pay. There are no group discounts, so we won't be buying tickets in a block. Once you register for the event, you are responsible for buying your own ticket. These can be purchased either from PEN Canada (416-703-8448, ext. 10) or at the Toronto Women's Bookstore (73 Harbord Street, southwest corner of Harbord & Spadina, 416-922-8744). Tickets will also be available at the door, but the event is expected to sell out so don't wait, or you might end up disappointed!

We'll meet up in the lobby of the library at 7:00 p.m., then head to the atrium. All seats are general admission, but I will try to get a group of 12 seats saved together. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. Afterwards, we can retire to a cozy nearby place (such as The Rosedale Diner or 7 West Cafe or elsewhere ... suggestions welcome!) for drinks/snacks.
