NOTE: THE CARPOOL LEAVES DOWNSVIEW AT 10:00 AM DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE WRITE IN THE NOTES SECTION, THE AMOUNT OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR! Length: approx. 15 kmElevation: 296 m This is a nice moderate hike that involves some hills, uneven terrain and probably some muddy areas. We'll aim to walk at a pace of about 4.0-4.5 km/h. If you cannot walk the entire distance, please do not sign up for this hike. We'll start at Rattlesnake Point Conservation area and follow the Nassagaweya Canyon Trail (7.2 km - about 2 to 2.5 hours) to Crawford Lake Conservation Area. We'll take a lunch break, and have a chance to see the reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian village at Crawford Lake. Then we'll hike back to our starting point. You can find a map and more information on the area and the trail here. Fees: There is a fee of $6.50 per person to use the park facilities (we will pay individually when we get there). The TTC subway does not start running until 0900 on Sundays. Check out the new TTC Trip Planner to figure out the best way to meet up on time with your coordinator. You can specify the time at which you need to ARRIVE at your destination, and it is recommended that you put in a time at least 15 minutes before the scheduled TOC event departure time. Event Directions: | Take 401 west to Interchange 320 south (Milton) onto Martin St. Turn right onto Steeles Avenue (Regional Rd 8). At Appleby Line turn left.
