Itinerary:

Even though kayak rental has opened at Humber river, the water is still really cold, so you might want to start preparing for the season by doing land exercises instead.

Even if you have never kayaked before, these exercises will help you learn the right movements or increase your flexibility. If you take kayak lessons in the summer, the moves the instructors will ask you to do will feel familiar, and you will get more out of the lessons.

Note that these exercises are not for stamina, fitness, or extreme stretching. For those seek advice from certified coaches.

All you need is a yoga/exercise mat or sleeping pad and appropriate clothing and footwear. If you would like to continue doing these exercises at home, you may want to bring a notepad to take some notes. The event will take about an hour; however, if people have more questions about kayaking, I, as a Paddle Canada basic sea kayak instructor, will try to answer them as well.
