Write Up:
On Friday, we drove up to Killarney and camp at the crown land near the park. On Saturday, we picked up the canoe at Bell Lake Access Point around 9am and started paddling to the Silver Peak trail. The hike was amazing and we had our lunch with the great fall color views. After the hike, we paddle back to the Bell Lack Access Point. We portaged through the parking lot and to the Billy Creek. After crossing a dirt road and three beaver dams, we arrived at our campsite by the Turbid Lake. It was a beautiful lake. It was very quiet as we were the only two people camping by the lake. The only problem with this campsite was that the thunder box was very very very close to the campground. I could actually see my fellow camper cooking clearly when I was using the box. lol. On Sunday, we started paddling to our next destination - Decon Lake. We paddle from Bell Lake to Three Miles Lake and then paddled through my favorite Balsam Lake with awesome fall colors. However, due to the low water level, we could not continue paddling from Balsam Lake to Decon Lake. When we were about 100 meters away from the portage point, our canoe was stuck in the mud. We were debating if we should get off the canoe and walked the boat. The weather was cold and the mud was deep, we decided to camp at Balsam Lake for safety reasons. The campsite was amazing. A nice stone table with a nice long log as a bench. The color around the lake caught our eyes. We really enjoyed our stay at this nice campsite. It was a cold Monday morning. We found our water bottles were frozen. However, we still tried our best to break the camp and started heading back to the parking lot. The wind picked up but not too bad. We arrived at the parking lot before 2pm and driving back to Toronto. It was a great weekend. No donation was collected.
