Spent the weekend at Bondi Village, snuck in under the wire before the second polar vortex of the year descended. The small group went to Fen Lake while the larger group stayed at Bondi... why drive somewhere when there's great x-country skiing right outside the front door? Conditions were excellent, freshly groomed snow, just six of us on the trails, temps just below freezing and very little wind on Saturday. After a late lunch, we hiked to the top of the Lookout Trail for lovely views around Lake of Bays. On Sunday, the gang split up again, one group going to Arrowhead PP to ski and skate, the other staying to ski at Bondi again. Lots of great trails, with terrain from mildly rolling for the beginners to seriously hilly for the more adventurous. Thanks to: David, Lisa and Alison for driving; Maria, for the wonderful piano playing all weekend; Galina and Janice for making breakfast both days; everyone who brought wine (can never have enough...); David for putting up with a bunch of women and not sighing heavily (in our hearing) once; everyone for the great company and conversation.
