Write Up:
The day started with snow on the ground, and as we drove south the sun came out.
We had 2 cars heading out from Downsview, and Chuck managed to stay behind Leon until we arrived to Pen Centre in St. Catharines, where we met Irene and Alana with their two dogs.

We started the hike at 10:20, and the trail ran through the city, then turns to the woods and arrives at Brock University. We contiued on The Twelve trail, and found a nice spot for lunch near the train overpass. When we arrived at the junction of the Merrit trail, we came to a T, and had to figure out what direction to take.

Alex looked at his GPS, while Chuck, Julian and I were looking at the map and the directions I have got from the Torontohiking website, which said to go Straight ahead. We thought we should turn Right, but saw a bridge - as mentioned in the website, so we decided to try Left.
Meanwhile Pnina and the rest of the group decided to continue left as we stopped, and we asked Gerry to call them to come back. After stopping a runner on the other side of the bridge, it turned out we were heading the wrong direction. We turned back and continued on the Merrit trail to complete the loop. We covered the 16Km in 4hrs and 40min.

Half of the group - Alex, Pnina, Sivanny, Julian and I - were also registered for the next day hike - at Long Sault.
