Write Up:
Pia, Lauren, Rich and Diane found their way to the Lettieri a the intersection of SPADINA and Queen. Meeting ahead of time gave us an opportunity to get to know one another. Then we walked to where the yoga workshop was being held. Jennifer joined us there. There was one other person, Avi, who wasn't part of Lisa's TOC "gang" participating in the workshop. Sarah Calvert, the yoga instructor had prepared a light lunch for us & so there was more time for us to chat & get to know Jennifer, Sarah and Avi! After lunch we gathered in a group on the floor and explored what the words "love" and "heart" meant to us. We explored some other ideas, some that were reflective, and others that we shared with the group. We each made a Valentine - for OURSELVES! And then we did Kundalini yoga - a special practice that focussed on the heart chakra. One particular excercise that involved jogging on the spot and punching out your arms felt like something closer to what you would do in an aerobics class, rather than a yoga class, but it sure did get our heart-engine pumping! We closed our session with a traditional greeting - the sunshine song- & then had yummy heart shaped treats with carob. We left with full hearts & we were sure to bring our Valentine's Day card with us!
