Event Coordinator(s): Katherine
Participants:Katherine, Rob, Jessie

Write Up:

The weather forecast called for heavy rain. The skies looked ominous. The wind was brisk. Yet three brave TOC members risked the elements to take a head-clearing, end of work-week walk on the Toronto Islands. Jessie, Robert, and Katherine took the small ferry over to Wards Island.

We began with a stroll through the homes on the Island. Then Rob led us through the wild bush in search of the Wards Island Beach. We then ventured to the pier on Centre Island. We found the Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, which celebrates its centennial this year. We crossed the many signs for the clothing optional beach on our way to Hanlan Point. We decided to take the ferry back there since the forecast had said the rain was to begin at 8 pm, and it was 7:30 at this point.

We made it back to the mainland and stopped for hot beverages at the Second Cup at Harbourfront before heading home.
