The Ride For Heart just keeps getting better and better! We at the Ex at about 8AM. Even though I was going on little sleep and didn't even get a coffee, I couldn't help but feel excited about the ride. After an entire Saturday of rain, it looked like Sunday would be good weather. It turned out to be perfect for riding! A mix of sun and clouds and not overly warm. Steph and Coco met up in the parking lot and it wasn't long before we joined the line-up to start biking. The line-up was more orderly and the start of the ride was easier and felt safer than in previous years. While waiting in line we had a close encounter with our Mayor who said some words to open the event. Before too long we were off biking across the waterfront on the Gardiner Expressway with 13,000 other riders. You can't help but feel good about being a part of a good cause and getting some great exercise at the same time. After stopping for bananas and apples at Bayview and DVP, we were off again. We all made it up the big hill leading up to York Mills. We enjoyed the long downhill segments of the Southbound journey. After cycling for 50K, we needed some sustenance. We headed to TOC's old stand-by, the Foggy Dew on King St. The sun came out for good as we got to the patio. Coco told us of the amazing changes happening in China, Steph talked about all the great plans she has for the Outdoor Club and Alan really enjoyed his omelette and everyone enjoyed their brunch in the sunshine. Another great Ride For Heart! See you next year!
