SNOW!!! DECEMBER XC SKIING

Who wants to go XC skiing for the weekend! Silent Lake Provincial Park is beautiful in winter, it has 40km of groomed cross-country ski trails including heated warm-up huts + pretty well no other facilities. There is a skate-ski trail but no rentals.

We will be staying in two yurts. If you're wondering what a yurt is like inside, here are some pictures. They are 16' in diameter with two sets of bunk beds (double bed on the bottom + twin on top). There's a table + chairs and a propane BBQ. Heat is from a wood burning stove, light is from lanterns. Costs are based on 4 people per yurt.

If you sign up for this event you will be expected to join the group xc skiing all day. We will share food if possible so please indicate any food allergies or restrictions in the Notes section when you sign up.

DIFFICULTY RATING: D4. No beginner xc skiers please. We will be keeping together on the trail and there will be no drop outs, so you must be an advanced xc skier, comfortable skiing on sharp declines (including those with sharp turns) and on ungroomed trails. If you have not been skIing with TOC before please email me your experience - where you have been skiing before, how long you have skied for and how far, or you will be removed from the list. Also please let me know if you plan on doing any skate skiing, as there are groomed trails for this.
