Itinerary: | |||||||
This will be Kim's first urban hike as an event coordinator, and she'll be the main organizer. Please direct all questions to her. DISTANCE: 7 or so km PACE: moderate DIFFICULTY: D3 We will hike at a moderate pace for about 7 km, taking the back way to the Brickworks and hiking around, and then returning, along a mix of paved, gravel and dirt forest paths, including some tricky/steep hills. Wear hiking shoes. Then we go for a drink at the Only Cafe (972 Danforth) where they serve great craft beer (and coffee). They don't serve much food, but you can bring food in from other nearby places and they don't mind. This hike goes rain or shine but not in totally crazy weather. This map is roughly the route but not exactly. · Start at Chester TTC station on the Bloor line · Hike down through Todmorden Mills · And up the hill for the back way into the Brickworks. There are some tricky hills. · Hike around the Brickworks · Hike back and detour for a pint at the Only pub, where we will probably sit outside if it's nice. You can come for just the hike, but it'd be nice if you came to the Only too. | |||||||
