Itinerary:
Back by popular demand, the second Toronto Urban Chase! The first one was a resounding success, so we’re coming with another race. Up for a challenge? Think you know the city? Test your mettle with the Toronto Urban Chase: Toronto on the Map. The theme of this race is What Makes Toronto Famous (besides the CN tower, that is.)

1) How does it work?

Each team of 2 will race around Toronto from checkpoint to checkpoint and the team that completes the course in the shortest amount of time wins the prize for the fastest team (there will be prizes for other categories). Starting at Union Station, you and your teammate will be given a clue that will direct you where to go for your first checkpoint. At the checkpoint, you'll solve a puzzle or search for an answer to a question. Once you have the correct answer, you'll call in and if the answer is correct, you'll be given the clue for the next checkpoint.
There will be about seven checkpoints total.

2) But I don't want to run!!!!

You don't have to! If you and your teammate want to go through the course in a leisurely fashion, you can do so and still have fun. The course is designed to take you to different parts of Toronto that perhaps you're well-acquainted with (or not), and you'll learn something interesting and new.

3) How do I sign up?

The usual way we sign up for TOC events.
If you already have a teammate that you want to be paired with, just write down your teammate's name in the comment box.
If you don't have a teammate, don't worry! We'll pair you up with another TOC member. Just rate how competitive you want to be and we'll pair you up with a teammate who wants to go as fast or slow as you do.

Here's the scale:
6 - I'm out for blood.
5 - I'll be running most of the time.
4 - Some running and some walking/jogging
3 - Mix of walking and jogging, and running after streetcars and subways
2 - Mostly walking and some jogging
1 - Strictly walking!!

4) What else is there?

After you finish the race, we'll head over to Chalkers for refreshments, to recuperate, to exchange stories of what happened while racing, and for prizes.
It'll be a great fun day of exploring, discovering, and seeing Toronto in a new way, even for you native Torontonians (if you guys actually exist).

5) You're not a psychic. You didn't answer the question that I have.

Feel free to email Lillian at regardingon@yahoo.com.
