Frost/Nixon is a fact-based drama, starring Michael Sheen and Frank Langella, about the mid-1970s confrontation between the wily British TV host and the disgraced American president. Frost saw an opportunity to make it on the American circuit; Nixon saw this as his opportunity for explanation and redemption.

Adapted from the hugely successful stage play, and directed with practiced fluidity by Ron Howard, the movie surges with an energy and visual verve that improve the play and enhance the themes of dramatist Peter Morgan's script — about the codependency of media and politics, and about the vanities of ambitious men shaping public images.

Afterwards, we'll find somewhere to have a drink and discuss the film.
