Let's take advantage of the free entry to Toronto's Historic Sites this month and do a museum crawl! We will be using the TTC subway to access these sites as well as walking about 5km in total, so please bring appropriate TTC fare, and comfortable walking shoes. Itinerary of Museum Crawl: 11:10am> 1st Stop> Gibson House "This Georgian farmhouse was built in 1851 by Scottish immigrant, farmer, surveyor, politician and rebel, David Gibson." 2nd Stop> Mackenzie House (Dundas Station the walk to 82 Bond St) "Visit the last home of William Lyon Mackenzie, Toronto's first mayor and leader of the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837." 3rd Stop> Montgomery's Inn (Islington Station then walk to corner of Islington Ave & Dundas St W) "Restored to heyday of the Inn in 1847, this community museum celebrates the history Montgomery family and Etobicoke." Last Stop> Colbourne Lodge (High Park Station then a walk to the south end of High Park) "This charming cottage was built in 1837 by John Howard, who founded High Park with his wife Jemima." **Time Permitting as museums close at 5pm** | |||||||
