Fri, Mar 10 2006 - Outdoor Waterfront Skate (View Original Event Details)

We had a great turn-out for what will probably be the final skating event of the season. It was a great way to end off the winter skating season, too. It was a really warm evening and the rain we had been experiencing cleared up completely. The Natrel Outdoor Ice Rink was in good shape and unlike the Disco Skates in January and February the crowds were a bit more sparse and there was lots of room to skate. There was great 60's music all evening. David hadn't been skating for 15 years, but was doing great. He has plans to buy some used skates for next winter. Daniela and David knew each other from the U of T Outdoor Club and had fun catching up. Hyesook, who is visiting Toronto from South Korea had a very Canadian night by ice skating and having a pint of Keith's at the bar. Amisha, Sooki and Gargi enjoyed their first outing with the Outdoor Club. It was great meeting everyone and we look forward to seeing everyone at more "springlike" events as March turns to April. After skating for a couple hours, we headed up to the Harbour Sports Bar for some beers and nachos and wings. A great time had by all! SEE YOU NEXT WINTER!
