Tue, Jan 1 2008 - First Hike of the New Year - Humber River (View Original Event Details)
|
The forecast of snow (and maybe a few late nights) caused a few cancellations. Unfortunate for them as the weather made the hike an unbelievable winter wonderland. There was a gentle snowfall as we gathered at Etienne Brule Park on the Banks of the Humber River. On approaching, I saw the first of two cross country skiers. The gentle pristen white blanket covering everything was breath taking. As everyone gathered we made new friends and renewed old ones. There were 14 of us and Woodie. Woodie provide us with great entertainment and many friendly discussions with other travelers. Nicolas got to use is new GPS watch and identified our trip as 9.5 Km. On our returned most of shared a meal at Billy Bobs on Bloor. Clearly a good time was had by all.
