Write Up:
Pat, Kate, Francois, Darrel, Mark and I all attended this event in the Burgundy Room at North York Memorial Hall. Jenn M was unable to be there, as she was nursing a very sick cat. Various members of the Bruce Trail Club spoke about their Club's objectives and practices, especially in regard to to their hiking, and made themselves available for answering questions afterwards. The speakers also provided some historical information on the creation of the Bruce Trail, and commented upon the Bruce Trail Club's responsibility for maintaining the trail through the work of its volunteer team. There were some brochures and back-dated publications available for attendants to take, including a nice map of the Bruce Trail in its entirety. Memberships to the Bruce Trail Club were also available. (You can also sign up for these on the web.) All in all, it was an informative evening. Since our own club benefits from using the Bruce Trail, we should certainly try to pitch in regarding its maintenance. I think we have made attempts in this regard in the past, and we should do so again in the future.

After the Bruce Trail presentation, several of us went to Milestones for a drink. We sat outside and enjoyed the very pleasant evening air.
