Rain and thunderstorms had been predicted but not a drop of rain fell during the hike.

The level of lake Ontario was very high (enough to cause flooding on Toronto Islands) and that meant that stretches of beach along our hike were under water. On previous hikes on this route we could walk on the sand where the beach was 20 to 80 feet wide. Today the beach was 0 to 5 feet wide in those places.

But it was windy and wavy which made for interesting visuals of the waves pounding the shoreline boulders.
