They came prepared for the elements, the intrepid group of TOC hikers, with bug nets and rain ponchos. The morning started with intermittent mist and lots of bugs. So bug nets came out. Then came the rain,...The rain gear and ponchos came out. The good thing was that the rain kept the bugs away. The rain fell steady, all day. The terrain proved to be a bit more challenging than expected, just as one hill was conquered, there was yet another, and another. The trails were slick and in some places, really really muddy. Little streams became small rivers requiring the skill and balance to hop across on rocks. Despite the rain, the beauty of the landscape surrounded. The greens of the leaves just popped the colour on the trees and the forest floor was covered with blooming trilliums. The hikers enjoyed the gorgeous views of the landscape and waterfalls. There was also the satisfaction of conquering the challenges of the terrain and the weather elements.

Thank you to Laurel and Helena for carpool driving.

$6 in donations was received with thanks!
