Sat, Oct 13 2007 - Tree Planting - here in the GTA! (Stan Wadlow Park, Taylor Creek area) (View Original Event Details)
|
This particular event brought me to a beautiful part of Toronto I'd never seen before (Taylor Creek Park), but it brought Kate back to the place where she'd spent countless hours of play. It was a beautiful day, and Peter and I were both tempted to take lots of photos ... But the task of the day was to plant trees, and plant trees we did, along with a great number of people from FODE and the general public. The trees we planted (elderberry, willow, chokecherry, etc.) had been chosen by Friends of the Don East and the City of Toronto because they are native species, and they would do well for the area where we were planting them. I especially enjoyed getting to know first-timer Sarah G!
Have some photos from this event that you'd like to share in our photo album? Please forward them to Erik Sonstenes at photos@torontooutdoorclub.com. Please note that we prefer to receive the photos in approximately 640x480 or 750x500 pixels - do NOT send original high-res photos. If you have a LOT of photos, please submit up to twenty of your favorites (only) for a day event, or up to forty of your favourites for a multi-day event. Thank you.
