Another great winter beach hike!
6 intrepid hikers braved the travel to get to this hike after a 10 cm snowfall the previous night.
We did the beach portion first. We encountered snow, sand, slushy gloppy sand, logs, snow covered boulders with tricky crevices between them, and a few rivulets cutting across the beach which we successfully negotiated without getting soakers. There were many interesting ice formations on logs, roots, and rocks along the beach. A few of us took a bunch of pics and videos.
After a 25 minute lunch break in Guildwood GO we headed to
Morningside
Park. Only a few people had walked there before us, which meant the
snow was 10 - 20 cm deep and not well trodden. It was challenging
plowing through the powdery snow for the next 10 km.
4.75 hours with a lunch break in the GO station, and a few 4
minute breaks, including a snowball throwing break in Morningside
Park.
