Sat, Aug 11 2007 - Inline Skating Lesson (Beginners Level) (View Original Event Details)
|
Seeing as all four of us had never roller-bladed before, we all learned a lot from our instructor, Bruce. We practiced outside the Steamwhistle brewery on relatively flat ground. By the end of the lesson, we knew how to place our feet in the "first position" ballet step and bend our knees. Some of us were a little more bruised than others. Nice that elbow pads, knee pads, helmuts and wrist guards were provided as part of the $5.00 rental fee!
Afterwards, we scouted out a couple of different coffee places before we ended up in the one in the York Quay mall. We were thankful for the air-conditioning after being out in the HOT sun. Mark had to fight off a cold headache from his slushie-type drink as we talked about travelling & trekking & the disadvantages of living on a flood plain.
