It was a great game! An earlier rain shower did not scare off 12 of us from showing up to play some Friday night football. We needn't had worried - from 6pm onwards, it was a gorgeous, rain-free evening with a nice breeze and warm air. We did a warm-up until 7.15 then played a full game of 6 v 6, at nearly 45 minutes per half. It was a cracking wee game, with black shirts versus those wearing coloured/white t-shirts, and it worked out as a well balanced and fast-paced game. I made the pitch quite small for a good passing game, and good cardio. We stopped at 8.50, warmed down, said our goodbyes, then a lot of us headed to Wylie's for some post game drinks and food. The post-game banter was great, with politics, sports, Bhutan cuisine and social-ecoonomics all discussed. I had a blast coordinating my first TOC event. It was a good atmosphere, with no problems. One person Matt was at his very first TOC event and had a great time- he scored 4 goals, and enjoyed the post-game drinks and banter. A personal highlight was scoring from a medium- range free kick with a low hard shot to the bottom corner - right after some good banter from Erik, who was a bit sore to concede that goal. Credit to Jose, Baybars, Fletcher and Florin for a great game on each side, but everyone was solid and had fun. $5 in total was donated for the TOC at the end of the match.
