Out of 16 people registered for the event, 14 met at Downsview Station, 1 met at the event, and 1 dropped out at the last minute. Of the 15 who participated, once we arrived in Paris, Ontario, got our briefing, our safety gear and our equipment, we hopped on our turbo tubes and traversed down the Grand River. Unfortunately, the river was low and not running too fast; as a result, we had to do a bit more paddling that anticipated. Regardless, we had lots of fun; our spirits were high, the weather was fantastic, the views were lovely, and the water was warm. And we especially appreciated it when we did experience the sections of rapids; they were definitely lots of fun! Afterwards some folks chose to have some eats and a beverage and most enjoyed some ice cream at the local chocolate shop. It was a long, full day! As always, thanks to the drivers as without them, these events could not happen. $22 was collected in voluntary donations.
