Tue, Jun 12 2007 - Becoming a TOC Volunteer- Info Session (View Original Event Details)
|
We met at Chalkers as planned. With two TOC events going on at once, we were at the opposite end of the patio from Ben's volunteer social. However, the occasional volunteer did venture over to say hello.
Steph had prepared a very thorough and informative document for aspiring volunteers. Once this was handed out, we went over it and answered any questions. Great ideas were proposed for events, and we look forward to hearing from those present in the near future.
After the formal session was over we joined Ben's group at the other (rowdy) end of the patio and inside playing pool. Socializing continued until late into the night. Stories were told about Jim's intensity at golf, Jo being chased by bears, Bilal's swimming lesson at Killbear, and the competitive spirit from Sunday's TOC amazing race continued. It was wonderful to have this chance to talk with other volunteers who we might not see too often (as we're always running different events). This is definitely something we want to continue to do.
Special acknowledgement goes to Danielle and Shannon, as this was their very first TOC Event!
