We had a great group of 17 to explore Wye Marsh on Saturday, half on snowshoe and half on skis. It was a perfect sunny day, bright blue skies. The interpretive centre requested we call ahead next time so they could be ready for the deluge, but were kind enough to set up two tables in a side room for our bag lunches and even gave us a 45 minute live turtle and snake show over lunch in their interpretive centre! There were also plenty of birds spotted, including chickadees that ate out of our hands and a cardinal, swans, even a caged owl. In terms of trails, the marsh - as you'd expect - is very flat. It's perfect for beginner skiers - although the track wasn't as deeply set as a place like horseshoe valley or hardwood hills, we were some of the few people on it in the morning and it was very flat, sometimes even following an old railway line and at other times winding through the trees. A great day!
