We had eleven people on today's event. The weather was perfect for a butterfly hunt.

When I called the Tommy Thompson Conservation office to inquire about organizing a butterfly migration event, Karen McDonald said, "This year the butterfly count is down, so don't be disappointed". I was interested in Monarchs mainly. We did see butterflies but identifying them is another matter.

The best I can do at identifying what we saw is: Orange Sulphur (female is yellow)- might also have been a Little Yellow Sulphur, or a Cloudless Sulphur.

Cabbage Whites

Monarchs

A black (dark) Swallowtail, perhaps a Pipevine Swllowtail or an Indra Swallowtail.

We also saw various bird species including American Goldfinch and Eastern Kingbird.

$6.00 was collected in voluntary donations.
