The rain clouds were slightly ominous, but the 10 hikers on this trip were spared any prediction of a thunder storm.

After at timely meet up at Limehouse Conservation Area, we started our 10 km hike dodging tree roots, ridges, very rocky terrain and hopping over deep rock crevices. A geological curiosity to many members, we discussed the causes of the trip's first main event, the Hole in the Wall and it's surrounding conditions.

After descending the ridge, through the Hole in the Wall, we followed the Bruce Trail through some refreshing forest. Along the Black Creek side trail, we paused beside the water to ponder the uses of a 19th C Lime kiln and the agricultural history of the area. Also noteworthy were the lessons in reading trail signs!

Climbing ladders and traversing across 2 km of open farmers fields was easy going and problem free.

We were back under forest cover when some light rain began bringing out the mosquitoes in full, menacing force. No lunch break was taken for fear of being lunch. We plunged ahead, stopping momentarily at the Quarry to take in a rather picturesque panorama.

Heading back the way we came via the Canada Good side trail, we arrived back at the parking lot in no time. Donations were collected, a good time confirmed (I couldn’t have asked for a better group!) and we were on the road to Toronto by 2:15. Just in time to catch the most exciting half of a Euro Cup Italy-England standoff.
