We met at the entrance to the store and were taken on a great tour of various departments (mostly for Winter gear) by various MEC staff. We learned a lot about the "loft" of sleeping bags, the different layering strategies of clothing and most important about great camping food and caloric needs for different sorts of events. We wrapped up with a purchase or two and headed off to grab a bite (we were all starving). After a decent walk we wound up at an authentic Chinese restaurant on Spadina (Goldstone Noodle Restaurant" where Ping & Min ordered us some great dishes and tea. I'm sure we'll have to do another one of these in the Spring (with the same dinner venue).
