Well, after a late start because of a necessary venue change to Tim Horton's, we got ourselves acquainted with one another and set out some ground rules for the book club. It became quickly apparent that the TOC Book Club consists of an enthusiastic and bright membership! Lynn and Elliott admitted to not being avid readers which was why they wanted to join, whereas the remainder of us read a lot (some of us are a little addicted, it seems, with several books on the go, ahem, Liz and me...) We agreed our first book selection to be "Paddle to the Amazon" by Don Starkell, even though Betsy and Liz had already read it (they enjoyed it so much, they're giving it a second run!) Our next meeting will be at a members home in roughly two months (January 26th). We are all looking forward to reconvening at that time and discussing our opinions and ideas.
