Write Up:

After finding everyone finally at the carpool, we drove down as a convoy to the parking place. We met Emma there who was ready and raring to go, unlike some of us. We headed for the trail head and got started on our journey.

With the wind being so strong and heavy I knew we where in for a long hard ride. The trail took us from Lakeview through Port credit and on to Clarkson Village. Being on the lakeside we found great views of the lake and some of the waterfront. Mississauga must be called the city of many parks by the lake. Emma had a knack of giving us some very good historical facts along the way. This made me look a bit silly as I have lived in Port Credit for a couple of years and had no clue of the history. Shame on me I guess!

We followed the trail and headed along the lake front till we got to Port Credit and Emma suggested stopping at the worst coffee shop in the world, Starbucks. My protests and other suggestions of Timothy's and Second Cup ignored by the group we headed for that infernal place. After Carey and Emma bought their drinks We headed south towards another park and showed Emma a new path that was apparently opened just a few short months earlier, again I had no clue.

Along the way Nine Year old Samantha generously shared her treats at the behest of her mother Charmaine. While travelling we managed to chat amongst the group and found that Julian was from Romania. He had been living in Austria for a while after leaving his home country because of the communist government. Charmaine and Samantha seemed to have their own little conversation the whole hike long. Carey seemed more interested in teasing me that having a conversation.

History is all around this area as we managed to find the Adamson Estate which is now a very big spot for wedding photography. we also toured the Bradley museum which shows life in this area in the 1830's. It was a very interesting hike based on these two historical sites.

After a long 4 and 1/2 hour hike we managed to find our way to the Clarkson Pump. Emma mentioned not seeing the famous ribs on the menu and asked the waitress. She did not know about them and mentioned an appetizer of Sticky ribs. Needless to say, they where not the famous ribs. Since it was starting to get late in the day several of our hikers where ready to leave just as I was starting my meal. Emma graciously had made the research on the bus times along lakeshore where I was told I had thirty minutes to eat. I managed to eat half before I was hurried out by all to catch the bus. Getting on the bus we traveled back to our starting spot to split up for the day.

special thanks to all who participated for braving the elements as well to Emma for bringing us this idea for th hike as well as doing a great job of leading us from start to finish.
