This certainly was an eye-opening walk for us. After strolling through the west end checking out the sights we finally met up with Adrian. He is incredibly knowledgeable with regards to High Park's history and connection to our First Nations peoples.

We learned about ancient burial mounds, spiritual spots, and much more. Unfortunately the city's limited resources mean that not nearly enough is being done to preserve the park.

BMXers have virtually destroyed a whole section in the South East part of High Park. Years of illegal digging have ruined the soil and compaction has occurred to a severe degree.

There is hope though, with more groups taking notice of the situation the goal is to help bring the park back to a more natural state as soon as possible.
