Our trip from Guilwood GO station to Darlington Provincial Park started on Saturday morning with cool temperatures but dry. We followed the signs to the Waterfront Trail and stayed on the trail for most of the route. After some rain, some rest/food breaks, and a stop at a grocery store, we arrived at the campground at Darlington Provincial Park a bit after 4 pm. Then, Joan and Murray cooked a delicious vegetarian chili for all of us.

On Sunday, we rode to Port Hope for lunch and back to the campground for another great vegan meal courtesy of Joan and Murray. This part of the trail was very scenic. The weather was on the hot side but without humidity, so it was not too bad.

Monday morning was time to ride back, though, Roman and Karla managed to go for short hike on the park’s trails before we start riding back. We stopped at Whitby for lunch and cold drinks on a hot day.

At the end of this trip, there was a new bike helmet, a new brake cable, and a broken cable lock… but thanks to everyone’s great spirit and disposition to have a great time, this ended up being a great long weekend.

Thanks to everyone who came to enjoy this cycling tour and a special thanks to Joan and Murray for cooking such great dishes. Also, thanks to Roman for being so helpful with his GPS and other tools.
