We had a pretty good turnout for the first swim club. I had planned to do something structured, but everyone seemed happy just to swim at their leisure, or hang out and give out pointers to Aamer, who is learning to swim. But Jenn and I are convinced he will be doing laps by the end of the five weeks - he was looking awfully comfortable in the water. I sense another TOC water baby in the making! The pool was a pleasure, after a summer of cold and deep lakes, it was like a warm bath on a cold day :) Hassan had some issues with leaky goggles which somehow got into a whole discussion on who was the closest to being legally blind. Lasix, people!! Jenn and I practised turns in the deep end, and Robyn and Alana worked on their strokes in the slow lanes. I borrowed Alana's goggles and was amazed at how much better they are - instead of two leaky pinpoints, i could see clearly! I'm going to have to invest in a pair.
Afterwards several of us had to go, but agreed to meet next week for more swimming fun!
