Can you believe 15 people showed up for the winter camping homemade sled design event held at Chalkers! I think it was a first for the Chalkers staff also!.

A PowerPoint presentation was distributed to all the participants prior to the event. The presentation reviewed professional and homemade sled designs, along with my 5 prototype sleds designed and tested over the last 5 years. (If you are interested in a copy of the presentation let me know.)

We review the basic requirements of a good sled design. We discuss the pros and cons of various choices. I show some examples of my homemade sleds I made and used over the past 5 years. We reviewed the materials, construction techniques, cost, stores where you get your supplies, and time required to build your own homemade winter camping sled. Mark H. and Julian brought their sleds to the event. I think everyone liked the hands on of the demo sleds. The evening concluded with lots of Q&A.

See you soon. Gary
