Sat, Sep 30 2006 - Nottawasaga Bluffs (View Original Event Details)
|
We met the group, including new faces - Linda D who was not sure she will be able to come on time, another Linda, and Gina, Pnina & Alex who came for their first hike with the club.
We started our way to the trail-head with rain, but when we started hiking the rain almost stopped. Alison suggested we will have an ene-to-end Bruce trail events, to allow people to hike the whole Bruce, and we were discussing some options, and need to open the subject to other members who are interested as well.
Hyun was happy to join this hike, which was in the area we hiked previously also in a rainy day - The famous Mad River.
We decided to have only a short break, as we were not sure if it will rain again.
We continued on a side trail, and met Lourita, who apparently came to the trail-head a few minutes after we have left. We continued on another side trail, which was very steep, and found a cave that we could enter without our gear. It was pitch dark inside, but Leon managed to take some pictures of those who dared enter the cave.
We also hiked two other side trails, Nottawasaga lookout trail, which did not have any lookouts, and the Key Hole side trail, which was very impressive with some wholes in the rocks.
It started raining again only a few minutes before we completed the hike, and we were lucky again in this hike not to get soaked.
