Mon, Jul 18 2005 - Novice Intro to SCUBA Diving (View Original Event Details)

Some of us met at the carpool, some at the event, but everyone that came said they had a great time. Erik was thanked for not taking pictures of bathing suit clad club members and their post-swim hair-don'ts. We were in the water very quickly and gearing up for our underwater incursion. Several of our members who were nervous to start (having never taken breath under water before) soon became quite comfortable and were demanding we book another event so they could spend another hour underwater playing with “the shark” and “torpedo toys”. We dried off and heard a quick spiel from one of the instructors about getting certified (which Erik highly recommends). Then most of the group headed to Jack Astor’s for drinks and food. A good time was had by all! A special note about Keren who was the most adventurous person in the group: She offered to be the equipment demo manikin and was eager to learn from the instructors in the pool (learning to hover/etc.)
