Write Up:
The forcast was for thunderstorms this evening. I considered cancelling the event, then after some thought, I decided we are an Outdoors Club I cannot cancel because of the threat of some rain. Especially considering we would be in the city and can duck into safety if thunder and lightening were to start. Of course the option of going to a pub is always tempting in the event of a storm. So a small few of us braved the weather forecast and headed out for the urban hike. It took us along the Burke Brook, through the Alexander Muir memorial gardens and through Sherwood park. It's always great to find a bit of wilderness in the middle of this concrete city. We ended at Eglinton and Bayview where we had a chance to get some dinner and socialize a bit more. In the end we did not have one drop of rain and enjoyed our evening.
