Write Up:
On Sunday, June 7th, TOC members teamed up with the Credit Valley Conservation Authority and local volunteers to help battle the spread of garlic mustard in the Rattray Marsh Conservation Area.

Two areas were targeted during this workday and the TOC group chose the Knoll as their hunting ground. We climbed up, down, around and through to search out and remove the garlic mustard plant while receiving very interesting tidbits of information from Audrey, one of the CVCA volunteers, about flora, fauna and the history of the park.

At the end of what seemed like such a short day, the entire crew cleared nearly 30 bags full of garlic mustard from the conservation area!! It sounds like a lot but we barely made a dent and the CVCA will continue to battle the spread of the plant.

Many thanks to the TOC group for their efforts! Sorry there were no chest waders involved this time but stayed tuned.....
