THE HALF-MARATHON HIKE
We had a beautiful day for this hike!
The hike started heading through the hills in the forest off of Hockley Rd., we headed north and across to encounter the MONSTER hills (there should be switchbacks!)
We all found something to grab onto and scrambled up, continuing to discuss politics and dissent in the classroom.
At lunch Tricia got to practise her drug pushing skills (both she and Jenn need some work) when Marta got stung by a wasp! Happily Marta was fine!
We then headed back across the river and Hockley Rd. up another a HUGE hill (we'd seen it from lunch to everyone's collective groan) and across through one of the ski resorts, down through a farm and back to the start. We hiked a half-marathon keeping to a steady 4k/hour pace, we had a blast! On the way home, Tricia, Betsy, Jenn, Renee and Katharina got to practise our radio skills!
