We had a great weekend, with a warm and sunny weather. We have all arrived at the Cedarholmes B&B and cottages around noon time, had our lunch and started the hike from Pease side trail to Jackson’s cove side trail around 1:30. Renee and Susie were driving the group to the trail head. We came across several lookouts along the escarpment and continued to the newly created Cape Dundas trail, which opened only a few months ago. Jenn was my right hand in following the blazes along the way, as sometimes they are difficult to see. We covered about 12 Km, stopping for the views and for taking pictures. Leon and Keren took pictures of nature, flowers, trees and the views, while Janice had taken picture of the group and also had her picture taken at any opportunity. The second part was in a much faster pace, to make sure we will finish the hike before sunset. We finished the hike at 5:30, and drove to Dyer’s Bay to have dinner at Rocky Racoon’s restaurant, which we found in previous hikes, and come back ever since. The next day we headed to Hope Bay access, and started our 16 Km hike with a climb on a wooden ladder. We continued to Hart’s Tongue side trail, and after descending steel staircase and a steep descend we continued to the snake side trail towards the beach, where we stopped for a while to feel the sun and the water, as Daniela wanted. We had fun walking on the board walk towards Cape Croker’s park, where we stopped for lunch. Back the same way, after climbing the steel staircase again, we hiked along the escarpment with some great views over Sydney Bay. Christine was enjoying the hikes and the views, and has plans to do more hiking. For some of us this was somewhat a difficult day, we were out for 6 ½ hrs, including the breaks. We ate dinner that we brought with us, using the facilities at the place we stayed. On our last day we hiked at Barrow Bay side trail which crosses to the scarp edge and then descends steeply to the boulder beach. We took our time to relax and have snacks on the beach before climbing back up the steep escarpment, joining again the loop back to the parking area.
